MOL upgrade network: Asia -Mexico,West Coast South America products

molMitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. yesterday announced the upgrade of Asia - Mexico and WCSA service (CWL). MOL and the consortium partners (K Line and NYK) will consolidate the present two loops (WL1 by nominal 4,400teu class ships and WL2 by nominal 2,500teu class ships) and will deploy over-panamax vessels, nominal 5,600-6,500 teu class. MOL expects to provide more stable service and efficient operations by this change.

k line"K" Line will upgrade its services linking Asia and Mexico and the west coast of South America over the next seven weeks.
Two current service loops will be consolidated to form the ‘Andes’ string, which will deploy 11 post-Panamax vessels and commence sailings from Keelung on April 26.

From May 26, the Japanese carrier will also launch a new feeder service, branded MSX and deploying three 2,100-TEU vessels, linking Mexico and ports on the west coast of South America.

ooclOOCL is pleased to announce that Mr. Andy Tung, currently the Chief Operating Officer of OOCL, will succeed Mr. Philip Chow, as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company effective July 1, 2012.   Mr. Tung will also continue to be an Executive Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Orient Overseas (International) Ltd. (OOIL), the parent company of OOCL, and the Managing Director and a member of the Executive Committee of OOCL.
