Maersk Line has not seen usual Asia-Europe pick-up

maerskThe container shipping arm of Danish oil and shipping group A.P. Moller-Maersk said it has not seen the usual seasonal pick-up in bookings expected at this time of year, leading Maersk Line to postpone an Asia-Europe surcharge.
Daily shipping paper Lloyd's List had said earlier on Friday that Maersk Line postponed a peak-season surcharge on key routes between Asia and Europe in response to a significant softening of market conditions.

Maersk's situation, especially the change in its strategy, could provide an indication of the direction in which Zim Integrated Shipping Services, fully owned by the Israel Corporation, is sailing. 
China Shipping disposes two aging bulk vessels

china shippingChina Shipping Development is cashing in RMB32.54m ($5.11m) on selling two old bulk vessels to a scrap yard.
The bulk vessels will be sent to Digang Dili Dismantling Shipyard in China by early June.
